Hello, I have read parts of the answer to my question in other post but wanted a step by step answer.

Current setup : Networked 6 users and data on a mapped drive. Peer to Peer

To move to a new location:
1. Backup data files
2. Install SK6 Server on new location
3. Restore Data File
2. Go to all users and change mapped drive
4. Test

Am I missing anything?
Thanks
Thomas

These steps are correct, however, it may be easier for you to reinstall the workstation installation as opposed to changing the target and start in lines on every short cut. Just a suggestion.

It might go w/o saying...
...but kick everyone out of SK before step 1. :-)

Backups can be done more than one way - I seem to recall that the manual mentions one of the best ways to backup SK is to copy (maybe zip) the entire folder to a backup location. This is what we do and we copy the zip off site each night... keeping a rolling 14 days worth of backups. [Google Cobian backup.]

For step [2. Install SK6 Server on new location]
I have not found any advantage to "installing" SK on a server.
I simply copy the entire folder to a location on the server = done.
