It would be far less confusing if the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons on the main screen were "Save" and "Exit." My data entry folks find themselves wanting to "save early and save often," but it ends up dumping them out of the program when they save. If it said "Exit," it could at least ask if they want to save the data entered before exiting and then give them a choice of saving or not saving before exiting.
